Nevada counties and cities ordered to publish budgets early

The Nevada Tax Commission calls on county commissioners and city boards to prepare and publish annual budgets between January and April. Saloon Tax Tops Nevada District Total Over Two Hundred Thousand

Elko Independent reports Frank Reber of the internal revenue department in Elko says liquor tax for war purposes in five Nevada counties totals more than 220000 dollars. The district includes Elko Humboldt White Pine Eureka and Lander spanning 51700 square miles. Reber notes no protests to the tax and saloon men contribute to the war effort.
