In Washington last week Senator W A Massey of Nevada pushed a bill to record notices and location certificates for mining claims, claiming to aid Nevada miners. The measure sought description of fod proof on claims tied to volunteer expeditions against the Plate Indians of 1860, which the Senate ultimately rejected after Massey’s favorable speech.
The Secretary of State released official canvass totals with Wilson at 7986, Roosevelt 6620, Debs 8813, Taft 8196. Pittman beat Massey by 89 votes for United States Senator and Roberts defeated Tallman by 69 votes for Congress.
