The Nevada State Council of Defense is formed to coordinate state defense efforts. Governor Boyle, H A Lemmon, George Thatcher, George Bradigan, George A Cole and others named will lead and support statewide defense activities and citizen involvement in wartime vigilance and mobilization from Reno.

Horses end Reno stock yards run for war horses

Nevada spectators wrapped five days of rodeo style stockyard events near Reno as buckaroos finished riding 500 government horses for war use. Many were unbroken, marking the state’s largest postwar horse shipment yet.

Thoroughbred Bulls Sent to Nevada In Multiple Shipments

George Potts of Monitor valley arrived from Sierra County California with 24 thoroughbred bulls. The lot included 16 Herefords for the Potts estate four Durhams for Albert Daniels two Herefords for Handley Bros Eureka County and two Herefords for Phillip Meyers. The cattle, mostly young, drew attention as they were driven through Main street. The bells were shipped by rail to Austin and arrived in good condition. Subscriptions for Sentine: 3 per year.
