Killed at Lovelocks by Friend in Accident

Rail agent J W Walters of Lovelocks Humboldt County died nine hours after an accidental shooting at the depot on December 11. The fatal wound occurred during a firearms demonstration when H P Cook, a Salt Lake visitor, overlooked a cartridge in a Colt automatic. Walters, 89, left a widow, mother, two sisters, and a brother.
