He alleged Mrs. Longworth Miss Alice Roosevelt withdrew a thousand dollars from the family treasury and gave it to the Bon Moose party. His father-in-law’s remarks, aimed at keeping terms with both sides, unsettled Longworth and hindered his campaign leading to his loss of the district.
