Eureka town offer spurs wool and coal yard idea
An Eureka writer urges a local citizen to start a wool and coal yard, noting high prices and scarce supplies. Existing stables and barns could store coal and wood with a small cost, and a new engine could run a wood cutting operation. Superintendent Abbott reportedly offered a free area at the EB and P depot for coal and fuel storage to a responsible party. The piece ends with a call for an enterprising citizen to seize the opportunity. Also announced is the Episcopal Guild meeting of St. James at the rectory on Friday after noon December 20, urging full attendance.
