Silver Prices Jump Amid Indian Buying For Coinage
Silver advanced to 4 cents an ounce in New York on Monday August 1, the highest since late 1907 when it briefly surpassed 70 cents. Market watchers say Indian Government purchases for coinage spurred the rise, with expectations of further gains as India and China boost demand. Western silver mines could see larger profits if prices approach 70 cents again.

Route Decide To Use Antelope Valley Visit Eureka
On Sunday last two members of the Board of County Commissioners Mesars Caperton and Star accompanied by Gael S Hoag visited Eureka. They were driven over the road by A Leuson in his Ford to inspect the roads to White Pine County and to secure Eureka County cooperation for better road conditions. The summit over White Pine mountain was found nearly impassable for autos previously. the new route via Antelope Valley has no steep grades and impressed the commissioners who will let a contract to William Mateau of Hamilton to repair the old road. In Eureka they met the county board which promised to start road work immediately. The likelihood is the San Francisco road will soon be as good for travel as Currant Creek and Toubap families routes.

Nevada press comment on independent candidates election ruling
An Attorney General opinion says a voter may cast a preference at primaries and sign a petition for an Independent candidate. It removes the 10 percent quota barrier once thought necessary for Progressives to reach the state ticket, making it easier to secure signatures and appear on the ballot. The ruling, hailed by Progressive followers, is deemed a major election decision affecting citizenship rights. Carson Appeal.
