District Court Proceedings In the Davies habeas case
In Eureka County Nevada District Court last week Judge Breen denied release and ordered Davies held for examination on the charge of assault with intent to kill R McCharles. Testimony showed a struggle over a pistol and two shots fired striking McCharles. Davies waived a full statement, bail set at 1500 dollars, and the case moved to the grand jury. A separate trial by judge then foreclosed a mortgage for 7000 dollars with costs 612.45 and a closed estate proceeding for Giovanni Guglielmini.

Pio Serena Discharged In Nevada Felony Case
In Eureka, Justice L W Cromer discharged Pio Serena after a trial in the case State of Nevada v Pio Serena. The charge alleged breaking open a Palisade cellar and taking goods held by E Sassorito administrator of A J Sasserno deceased. District Attorney A S Henderson and H K Mitchell represented the state with F S Gedney for Serena. No evidence supported the charge and the defendant was freed.

Narrow escape as Arthur nearly drowns at water tank
