On July 26 1917 Bernard Damele of Tonkin Eureka County Nevada applied under Statutes 1913 to appropriate from a spring called Weat Cottonwood at a point bearing north 35 deg 00 min West 7250 feet from the West survey corner Sec 90 T 2 N R 49 E M D B M. The use is for 1 tenth cubic foot per second conveyed to troughs near the spring via dams ponds and troughs for livestock watering. water not returned to the stream. Signed J G Scrugham. A terse filing cites State of Nevada Application No. 4477 under Chapter 140 of 1913 statutes. It details a water diversion from Wittiken Springs at a noted bearing and distance, 4560 feet from the SE corner of Sec 22, T23N R51E M.D.B.M., using a dam and pipe to a point 50 to 100 feet southeast of the diversion point.
