Louisiana Consolidated expands Tybo and acquires Zenda

Tybo mine operations continue with sinking from the 400 level toward the 300 foot level. Production estimates promise $3,000,000 per 100 feet of depth. Louisiana Consolidated has bought the Pearl and Zenda mines in Kern County and plans to operate under new management this month. The Tybo ore bodies on the 300 foot level average 20 percent lead, 50 ounces silver, and $4 gold per ton, with high grade shipments from the Footwall vein totaling about 20 tons daily. A larger ore body on the 400 foot crosscut shows $117 per ton, and a four foot body extends to the 800 foot level. The Hangingwall vein yields about 50,000 tons at $50 per ton. The Footwall vein is richer and larger, boosting future value. The company projects monthly ore shipments of $30,000, rising to $100,000 in September, plus plans for electric power lines and a new mill to concentrate low grade ore. The Tybo Lead Company property adjoining Tybo will be shafted, expanding westward veins for future production.
