A major blaze at Palisade Is on Monday night destroyed the J. A. Dorman hotel, the old Banm hotel and saloon, the Club saloon, and Thomas Summerall’s hotel property. Fire began after 10 pm, fueled by dry wood and a strong canyon wind, with total losses near $10,000. No hydrants or water supply hampered efforts. Eureka train service disrupted and residents left without hotel accommodations.
