Early AY reminiscences of Nevada mining history in 19th century tales
The Nevada Mining News recounts how early prospectors discovered the Richmond mine on Haley Hill and the Page and Corwin at Secret Canyon. Four common miners owned the Richmond claim in Eureka and later profited after bonding and selling the property. The Page and Corwin discovery near Eureka yielded 15 to 18 inches of ore and handsome fortunes in a year. The English buyers paid about 500000 for the Richmond, and early agents recovered that sum in profits many times over.
