A. B. Lightfoot of Gaines Michigan reports a gloomy business climate across the state. District Court Session Sets Demurrer Hearing for April 15

The Spring term of Eureka District Court before Judge Peter Breen called the calendar in Eureka. The hearing of the demurrer in Eureka Powerless Mining Company v William Clute is set for Saturday April 15 at 10 am. Due to attorney absence the calendar is continued to April 15. Death of Mrs Arminda Nostrosa in Eureka

Mrs Arminda Nostrosa wife of D K Nostrosa of Eureka died after a three day illness from double pneumonia at her home. She was 47 and leaves husband four sons Charley Dan Frank Gilbert a daughter Arminda and sister Mia Nellie Dees of Los Angeles. She belonged to Eureka Temple No 15 Pythian Sisters and the funeral is set for Sunday April 16 at 1 PM from the Knights of Pythias Hall.

Funeral of Mrs Fra ser in Eureka by Masonic groups

The funeral for Mrs. Madeline Fra ser was held at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Hall in Eureka last Saturday afternoon. The service, under the Order of Eastern Star Iphigenia Chapter No. Eureka, was led by W H Russell and lodge officers, with "Nearer My God To Thee" sung. Friends accompanied the remains to Masonic Cemetery for interment in the family plot.

Divorce suit commenced in district court

A suit was commenced in the District Court this week by Claire Abel plaintiff against George Abel defendant asking for a dissolution of the bonds of matrimony on grounds of failure to provide and that the plaintiff be permitted to resume her maiden name of Claire Weber.

County bids for tractor rejected. state buys one at Eureka

At an April 10 adjourned meeting the Board of County Commissioners opened bids for a Holt tractor. Holt Manufacturing offered $5250 and Nevada Caralinc $5450, both rejected. Eureka County will accept a ten ton Artil lery Holt tractor from the Nevada State Highway Department at $736, and arrange shipment. William Hawkins presented a $1000 bond as Constable of Palisade Township, approved by the Board.

Easter party planned at Eureka School Saturday evening

Experimental plant completes ore testing at Eureka mines

Eureka Uncle Sam Mining Company finishes installing an experimental plant for ongoing ore tests from the Uncle Sam and Hamburg mines. Cyaniding tests show over 90 percent gold and silver extraction in non lead ores, using about 1.5 pounds of cyanide per ton. Flotation tests will begin when chemicals arrive from the coast.

Qua Benson a 41 year old Sweden native and Eureka resident died in the Europa Hotel saloon after drinking hot lemonades and beer. Autopsy found pulmonary embolism as the cause. coroner’s jury ruled death occurred April 12, 1922. Funeral held at Hjul’s parlors with burial in the city cemetery.
