Hop Market Update From New York Dealer Strings Prices
Valentine Loew of New York City reports on last week’s hop market in his Producers Price Current. Receipts rise to around 2056 bales since September 1, with exports to Europe and the Pacific Coast contributing to limited interior purchases. Prices for 1901 hops firm slightly, with top state hops at about 15 to 16 cents. Pacific Coast grades vary, and old stock remains available at lower levels. Brewers stay cautious, exporters buy only best lots, and overall volume remains light.
