Prane drying comes to close at Creswell

Special correspondence from Creswell notes prane drying will close this week with two cars shipped and three more to follow. Dr. Scarbough expects nearly 500000 pounds this season. Hays hops are being inspected and shipped and praised as the best this year. Napper of Washington shipped stock and household goods to his farm. Joe Stone remains seriously ill. Gilly Stowe from Los Angeles visits and endorses Gregori. Mia Danton, aged, dies at her son's residence.

Passing a Bad Night in County Obituary and Local Notes

George Hillegas was taken to Camp Creek for interment. Pioneer county lady buried. Rev. Stratford of M B Church to serve another year at Cenwell. Parsons and wife visited Portland. James E. Clark returned to Junction to work in depot yards after a week at home. Elias Williams JP Lost Valley attended his sister Mrs Danton’s sick bed. School opened Monday with Frank Cooper as principal, Miss Ruby Baughman and Miss Elsie Parks as teachers. Two large black bears were killed last Thursday on S A McKay’s farm near Spencer Butte.

The trial of Herman Breyer for selling whiskey to the Barnes brothers ended with a not guilty verdict after brief jury deliberation. A second defendant, Ryan Hlachley, faced similar charges with a hung jury then a not guilty verdict later in the day. Death of Edna Hill at Sisson California

Be E Quimby reported the death of his daughter Edna Hill at Sisson California from heart trouble. Aged 21, she was born in Nez Perce county Idaho and moved to Eugene four years ago. She married David Hill at Yreka last January and attended local schools and Baptist church here. She leaves her husband, parents, and a sister still in high school.

Accidental Plunge Near Eugene Flour Mills Ends Mostly Well

Harvey Cox and two work horses escaped serious harm after a wagon fell through a bridge sill into the gulch at the Eugene flour mills. Cox suffered a mashed arm but no broken bones. the horses were bruised but saved with help from mill workers and nearby staff. The wagon was broken to pieces.
