Hop Reports Show Mixed England Crop Outlook
Reports from hop dealers indicate a split view on England’s crop with some predicting a large yield while others warn of a dry season, red spider and mould damage, and many gardens abandoned, likely lowering prices. Otsego Farmer notes mixed U.S. yields, with a quarter of last year’s output overall, and England’s late reports say the hop crop is smaller than hoped and quality modest. California growers seek high prices for select hops, though shortages may limit offers.
