Pioneer Veatch of Cottage Grove Dies at 77
Isaac M. Veatch of Cottage Grove Oregon died Friday at age 77. Born in White County Illinois November 4 1824 he moved to Iowa with his family then crossed the plains in 184? He married in 1877 and had five children four surviving two daughters Lacy Shields and Silas Stratton and two sons Robert and Oscar.

Close Call on Highway Fire From Youths Shot at Birds
Levi Hollenbeck of Goldson narrowly escaped injury when his grandson and another boy named Jones fired at birds on the highway. Minor Operation Performed On Thomason Child
