Baccalaureate Services at University Draw Large Audience
Baccalaureate services at the University of Oregon in Villard Hall drew an audience of about 1500 to 2000, with hundreds turned away. Dr. Mac H. Wallace delivered the sermon on Faith in the Spirit, as a festival program featuring a 20-piece orchestra and 40-member choir. The service emphasized faith guiding life, urged graduates to pursue a single enduring truth, and warned against defying moral laws. The program included a campus recital and a baseball game, with weeklong events and a commencement schedule announced.
