Seven more bodies were recovered overnight raising total deaths to four percent. many victims lie in deeper workings and may never be found with bodies shattered beyond recognition.

Thirty Five Dead in Kentucky Mine Disaster

A mine disaster at Bridier mine near Drakesboro Kentucky yesterday left thirty five dead. A lamp ignited gas in an unused chamber causing a violent explosion. Fans cleared the mine while rescue teams recovered the bodies. Commissioners' court held a monthly session this forenoon.

Weather record snow in Chicago sets January high
