Rat Trouble At Cottage Grove Attracts Attention
A Cottage Grove report notes Mr. Kelly, father-in-law of Henry Wood, baited a trap near the West Cottage Grove public school and caught five half grown rats the first night. The incident follows persistent rodent problems around his premises and hints at a bungled trap trigger. Also mentions Captain Terry Rooney's departure for Australia and promotions involving the Commercial club and a visitor from Ratton Mo. Hon. H. B Miller, Yokohama consul-general, extends furlough and plans months in Eugene, with insights on Japan relations.

Postoffice Picture Brick Face Upgrade Urged
Citizens of Eugene are asked to raise about 1200 dollars to upgrade the postoffice building to pressed brick as planned. Building officials say the current plans call for red brick, and the extra funds would pay for cream or white pressed brick like the White Temple on the Hovey block. Action should be taken quickly by the Commercial club and similar bodies.
