Newell H White Dies After Illness in Estherville
The Estherville community mourns Newell H White who died at 2:30 PM after a short bronchial pneumonia illness. Born September 22 1871 in Hainesville Illinois he moving to Spirit Lake in 1881 and Estherville in 1890. He married Mary Howe in 1894 and leaves a wife five living children and a mother two sisters and two brothers. Funeral set for Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Catholic church with Father Kelly.

A severe April storm struck Montgomery county with heavy rain and violent winds, but Hillsboro suffered the worst damage from hail. Windows, skylights and roofs were damaged. people were injured in rare cases as hailstones the size of eggs, some measuring three and a half inches, smashed through ceilings and roofs.

Died Very Suddenly in Estherville Home
Mrs bester Cole died suddenly at her North Fourth Street home on Sunday night around eleven. Previously in perfect health, she and husband Mr Cole had plans for a pine project the woods the next day. He awoke to her struggle to breathe, a neighbor was called, and she died in the room aged sixty one after many years in Estherville.
