TAFTMozart Society to Be Guest at Her Garden Party. iiA CHORUS OF 132 WOMENOrganization, of New York Vocalists Arrives by Special Train—Marine Band, for the First Time in Its History, Will1 Act as Accompanist at White House Affair—Concert at the Arlington.The famous Mozart Society, of New York, composed of some of the best known vocalists of the metropolis, augmented 'by a trained chorus of ^S2 women, will sing before Ml-s. Taft at the White House this afternoon. The society Is to come to Washington specially to sing for Mrs. Taft, and the members will be her guests at the White House garden party.For the first time in tho history of the United States Marine Band that organization will be accompanist for theSingers. Never before has the MarineBand played the accompaniment for any singing society.On the occasion of the unveiling of the Count von Steuben statue In Lafayette park last year, Arthur Claassen, who now is conductor of the Mozart Society, was in Washington with the LeJdererantz and Arlon societies, which appeared before President and Mrs. Taft. It waj^ on that occasion that Conductor Claassen asked Mrs. Taft if she would care to hear the women's chorus of the Mozart Society sing. Mrs. Taft expressed a desire to do so, and invited the society to come to Washington this spring.Concert at the Arlington.Conductor Claassen, who is a musician of high standing, has conducted choruses before former President Roosevelt, In this city, and Emperor William of Germany, in Berlin.The party left New York city yesterday morning at 8 o'clock on a special train over the Pennsylvania Railroad, arriving at the Union Station at 1:30, having made the run-on a specially fast schedule. The party is stopping at the Arlington Hotel. The itinerary of the party, in addition to their appearance before Mrs. Taft, provides for an entertainment and concert at the Arlington Hotel tonight, after a sightseeing tour of the city today. Tomorrow morning the visitors will make a pilgrimage to Mount Vernon. They return to New York tomorrow night.Dr. Adelaide Wallenstein organized the Mozart Society about two years agp. after she had experienced some difficulties with the Rubinstein Society. The Mozart Society is now regarded as oneof the finest organizations of singers inthe country.
