Return of Clifford Chapman From Canadian Army Service
Clifford Chapman 18 returns to his home at 507 East Market Street after a year away serving in the Canadian army. He enlisted in Windsor Ontario in 1917, served in England and France with the Third Canadian Reserves and the 19th Battalion, saw action at Lyons Cambrai and Venice, was slightly wounded near the armistice, and moved back to New Albany quickly. He was born and raised in English and moved to New Albany about four years ago.

More than two hundred acres have been leased near Taswell and Eckerly. L. C. Frey sold leases to the Southern Indiana Oil Company. Wells reached over a thousand feet previously. a deep test well of four thousand feet may be drilled this summer to reveal oil beneath Crawford county.
