Orleans man takes over English Stave Co plant
Horace H. Philips of Orleans acquires the English Stave Co plant from Boyd & Benz, who retire after years in charge. The new owner plans moving the plant about 100 feet south near the railroad, adding a side track for timber business. He will run a general saw mill and lumber operation with the existing slack barrel stove and heading venture, employing many men year round. The community is urged to support the venture.
