Members of the Modern Woodmen lodge surprised sick Joseph Peatson at South Seminary Street by building a fifty foot board fence at no charge. The crew finished the job in forty minutes after their day at Southern shops, providing aid to a member in illness and creating a lasting example of brotherly support.
Atty. Charles T. Brown, candidate for prosecuting attorney, to speak in Elizabeth, Harrison county, on Decoration Day. The English Milling Company advances on a new mill building with the engine room done and basement laid. The notice urges proper Decoration Day observance and reflects on domestic life and thrift.
Dedication of the new Temple M. E. church, set for May 26, is postponed to Sunday June 2 due to lack of available local clergymen. Rev W F Smith of Centenary M. E. will lead, with several other pastors assisting and former charge pastors invited to attend.
