Irena Tucker wife of Jesse Tucker aged near Newton Stewart died at home May 2 1910 after a short illness. Born Kentucky May 13 1849 she was 60 years 11 months 19 days. Survived by husband and four children C J Tucker H O Tucker Mrs Jesse Whitmore and C H Denbo. Funeral held at home by Rev Roy Lopp and burial in Eastridge cemetery.
Charles F. Smith and Miss Eva Froman of Steeriod township were married by Biceraim. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Froman of near Enesi and is held in high esteem by all. The couple will begin a life of happiness together.
Mies Maud Montell Newton, daughter of Lafayette and Ida Newton, died March 8 1910 at about 27. She joined the M E church at 15 and was sanctified in February 1909. A charter member of the Eckerty Holiness Association she taught public school in her native county for six terms before illness ended her career. Six days before death she testified to Jesus presence and urged others to remember eternity. She leaves her father four sisters two brothers and many relatives. "I go to prepare a place for you."
New Albany Tribune reports Floyd County Republicans held a meeting at the secretary W M Millican’s office in Baer block to arrange a six months poll to be conducted in early May. Attorney John B Smith presided in chairman George Strack’s absence. candidates must notify Millican in writing and meet June 4 1 PM deadlines. Also notes local ads and a dog poisoning incident in Birdseye Indiana with two dogs killed overnight.
