Prospectors from Louisville eyed the Sulphur Wells west of town and hotel English for a potential sanitarium project this summer. If realized, the development would boost English and attract investors, with a meeting held in Louisville this week and plans for a sanatorium on the Wells grounds.

Inquirds at the State House find a cruelty clause in the acts that could ban dehorning of cattle. Attorneys say horns are a natural defense, and the interpretation rests on section 584 page 723. The Attorney General’s office notes the construction might apply.
New Quart rs Murphy and Mathers relocate stock to Sud darth building beside the Hotel English. They announce a full new line of millinery goods this week and invite old and new customers to visit their new quarters. Tur Alaska Indians become familiar with canned goods sent to white men. A prophophone speaks with an Irish voice and natives wonder about the device. One man declares it a canned white man.
State Superintendent Fasser A. Cotton disclosed that individuals trafficked in exam questions before December tests. Decatur county applicants reportedly scored unusually high after obtaining questions days early. A leading school supply dealer is suspected, with a State Board of Education meeting planned and detectives likely to be used to gather evidence.
Hack Line runs daily from English to Paoli Lindly and Jones proprietors with O H Hickman as manager. Hack leaves English at 12 30 p m on 6 19.
The Rock Island lines offer special tourist sleeping car excursions to California that reduce travel time. A new improved pattern of tourist sleeper will depart Chicago daily and reach Los Angeles in sixty eight hours.
