Lawyers and officials attend court in English while residents travel for business and social visits. A farmer's letter urges staying in Crawford County to improve farming roads schools and churches.
Notices announce April 1 1918 price increases on monuments as stock remains large and buyers urged to purchase now. Also included are notices for the Apostolic Holiness church Indiana 15th Annual Convention and Camp Meeting near English August 28 September 1 1918 at a large tabernacle tent and nearby living tents with details for contacts W P Senn Grantsburg IN and G W Groshart English IN.
State Council of Defense calls on sheriffs and police to kill stray dogs to protect sheep and boost Indiana wool production. A committee reports over 9,000 sheep slaughtered last year, worth more than 70 000 dollars, with wool losses affecting military clothing. Wool production could double with strict enforcement and low cost to growers.
Monday session led by Judge William Ridlay with H W Mock as clerk and C T Brown as prosecutor. Luther Peters pled guilty, fined 50 dollars and jailed 30 days with potential suspension for good behavior. Other cases continued or set for future action, including divorces and pending trials with notices of delays.
A rush party honored Floyd Mack of Taswell and Ivan Mauck near Beechwood, Crawford county boys who enlisted and left for Texas last week. Guests included Pearl McDonald, Elsie Leonard, Grace Brubeck, Gaye Crews, Lola Gregory, Helen Hart, Yollie Suddarth, Roscoe Brown, Guy Summers, Rossen Funk and the two honorees. They enjoyed music then departed for the depot to say farewell at No. 2.

The aim is continuous growth from farrowing to market.
Col Henry Watterson rails at self important officials in Washington who overregulate industry during war. He argues for maintaining normal work and life, criticizing voluntary privations and urging expedience over endless admonitions for sacrifice. He condemns office politics and warns against stifling business and national effort.
M. E. Church invites a wide welcome with services at Temple Saturday night at 7 15. English services Sunday morning and Sunday night at 7 15. Revival services begin at Tas well Monday night March 18. Pastor W Fink signs the notice.
Patriotic exercises at Central School in Alexandria Indiana end with a vote to remove Kaiser era poems. The books are burned after students pledge allegiance and sing The Star Spangled Banner. Principal Gullett receives support from local groups and a push to purge Kaiserite material from all city schools. Additional note mentions revival meetings at Grantsburg Holiness church with large crowds and strong preaching.

Burnett H Sarles and J L Cunningham attended English on Saturday. The Longest family hosted visits from Ida Lewis and daughters Clara and Cora. Local gatherings included church, shopping trips, and family visits among the Sarles, Shields, Turley, Kellams, Powell, Hart, and Smith households with plans for summer work in Illinois.
