John W Brown age 72 9 months founder of Trilla died Friday night at the family home from pneumonia Funeral services will be held Sunday at ten in the Presbyterian church Burial in Beals cemetery He served in the Civil War was postmaster of Trilla and ran Brown McPherson firm He was an elder in the Presbyterian church and active in lodge work He married Mary Hays in 1867 Surviving are two brothers a son a daughter nine grandchildren five great grandchildren and a Mattoon granddaughter
