Jesse R. Melton aged 83 died at home near Ethel on Sunday March 4 from lagrippe. He lived in the same district all his life and in the house 57 years. Survived by children Rev J R Melton Joel M Melton Jesse S Melton J A Mary Melton and Mrs A L Critchfield. Funeral by Rev S H Critchfield interment at Providence burying ground Tuesday. Also notice of Sterling township teachers institute held at the court house Saturday March 10 1906 due to smallpox near the school building.

Orval Goldman and Miss Ruth Miller were married Sunday March 4 at noon in the bride’s Grantsburg home with Rev. G T Stallings officiating. Zene Lytle and Emma Belcher served as attendants. 32 witnesses attended. The ceremony followed with a reception, music by Effie Goldman on organ, and congratulations from friends. The bride is daughter of Coroner S. H. Miller and the groom son of W. H. Goldman.
