Open Air English News Band Concerts Start Friday Evenings
Open air concerts by the English News Band will be held Friday evenings on Dr. Gobbel’s vacant lot. Trustee Tuition Battle Over Rossville Pupils
Frankfort Indiana May 27 The Ross township trustee who opposed a commissioned high school in Rossville and an extended high school program faced a tuition dispute. Eight Rossville pupils enrolled at Frankfort High when their township closed. the State Superintendent ruled the township must pay tuition for all Ross township pupils at Frankfort. It is expected more Rossville students will follow next winter to take advantage of township payment.

New Law Seizes and Destroys Concealed Weapons
A new law directs that concealed weapons be forfeited to the sheriff after conviction rather than returned to the owner. Officers must oath to surrender found weapons. The sheriff destroys them under circuit court order. A third offense within two years can send the offender to the penitentiary for up to one year. The provision applies to all cancelable weapons from slung shots to sword canes.
