Florence Foote, 14, daughter of farmer John P. Foote, was lured by Frank Walker and others from her home two miles south of Corydon to a vacant house near the colored church. Walker is at large as authorities investigate the alleged offense with prosecutions promised.
Conrad Bates and Jesse Conrad married Miss Inez Bates at Clerk E. G. Boyd’s East Fifth Street home. Rev. J. A. Breeden officiated. The bride, formerly from east of Louisville, resides with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Hoskins of White Sulphur Springs. The groom runs the White Sulphur store at Sulphur. The News extends congratulations.
A. L. Waynick and Miss Deasos Weathers of Liberty township were married last Sunday evening at the bride’s home. The groom is a prosperous farmer near Valeene. The bride, daughter of Leroy and Mrs Weathers, is held in high esteem by neighbors. Congratulations pour in.
Miss Josie Cox of Union Chapel near Grantsburg and Wilbert Beard of Keensburg Illinois were married at the bride's home Saturday night July 25 with Rev. J W Goldman officiating. They will reside in Keensburg and carry well wishes of friends.
