Grain dealers forecast late shipments as millers expect farmers to withhold crops for higher prices. Farmers cheer rising Chicago wheat prices and speculate the dollar era is near. Railroads anticipate a sharp demand for empty cars, but bottlenecks slow starting movements in southern Indiana.
Mary Louisa Bates born March 22 1888 in Troy Perry county Indiana. She moved to Lagrange Missouri at age nine and married to Leavenworth in Lewis County Missouri September 3 1861. She raised relatives, joined Baptist at 16 and Presbyterian by letter in 1566. She died July 4 1907 aged 60 years. Funeral at Leavenworth Presbyterian Church.

Pike roads bonds in Sterling township failed to sell Monday though bids were on file. The withdrawing bidder caused no sale and require re advertising for bids, delaying bond sale by about two months.
