The obituary notes Sarah Adkins born September 16, 1844 in New Albany died January 24, 1913 at 69 years. She married Amos Adkins in 1866 with four living children Thomas Grace Emma Curtis and four grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death about ten years ago. She joined the Baptist Church in youth and the Grantsburg Presbyterian Church after marriage. She moved to this place eighteen years ago and was known for quiet gentleness and faith in Christ. She endured neuralgia and other illnesses before death. She is remembered as a kind Christian mother wife and neighbor. Rock of Ages and other hymns were her favorites. Dies at 96. former Indiana legislator Jesse Crecelius
Jesse E. Crecelius, 96, longtime Crawford county resident and former Indiana Legislature member in the 1940s, died at his French Lick home. He was born in Crawford County and practiced law early, retired about fifteen years ago, and is survived by his second wife and five children. Funeral services were held in Eckerty.

The Ohio Valley Fair Circuit met in New Albany to elect officers for the coming year. E W Pickhardt of Huntingburg was named president with Charles B Morris of Salem as vice president and G V Cain of Scottsburg as secretary. J W Bird of Marengo becomes treasurer, and George W Strack of New Albany is a director. County fair dates were set: Dubois at Huntingburg August 10–15, Crawford at Marengo August 17–22, Harrison at Corydon August 24–29, Scott at Scottsburg August 31–September 3, and Washington at Salem September 7–12.
