Delinquent lands and town lots due for 1909 and prior years with penalties and interest, plus lands and lots taxes for 1910 listed for Crawford County Indiana. Includes amounts due and parcels affected by nonpayment.
Crawford County Indiana offers a public auction on February 18 1911 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Court House or County Treasurer's office for delinquent lands and lots including numerous parcels with specified valuations and penalties to satisfy taxes and costs all listed as of January 14 1911 with Auditor J Evan Jones and County Board seal.
W M Whitsitt of New Albany urges lawmakers to preserve and strengthen the County Local Option Law. He argues the dry counties fare better than wet ones and asks for legislation to curb illegal liquor sales in drug stores and blind tigers. He cites his long service across seven counties and part of six more and notes broad temperance sentiment among constituents.
Notice announces stockholders of the English Canning Co will meet Saturday January 21 to settle last year’s business and decide plant operations for the year. Morton H Rogers aged sixty was examined for the killing of his brother in law James A Laswell aged seventy five at Rossellville last week. Five witnesses testified the act was self defense and he was freed at the end of the examining trial. The report also notes a county council meeting in English Indiana on January 31 1911 to discuss deficiency on rock road bridge and courthouse repairs.
