Red Cross Membership Drive Boosts War Support
The American Red Cross plans a nationwide drive from December 16 to 25 to add 10,000,000 members with Crawford county aiming for 2500 new members. Each branch is urged to convene meetings, form a campaign committee, and mobilize volunteers to fund and aid wounded servicemen and sick alike.

Eastern Star selects officers at Saturday gathering
The Order of the Eastern Star elected its officers last Saturday night with H. W. Draft draft registration rules expand exemptions revoke
Under new rules every registrant is restored to original status and all prior exemptions and discharges dated before December 25 are revoked. The Provost Marshal General says registrants must know their old number and any failure to comply is a misdemeanor with one year imprisonment and loss of rights, immediate induction possible.
Law Requires Army Pay Deductions and Family Allowances
The law mandates part of a service member’s pay to be given to his wife or wife and children, with the government providing a family allowance during service.
