Charles A. Greathouse, state superintendent, reports receiving many letters about a law passed by the general assembly permitting teachers to take tuberculosis treatment. The letters question the policy and its implementation, with confusion over who is affected and how.
Coroner Fritz heard most evidence in the death of H. B McWilliams a guard at the Indiana Reformatory slain Tuesday. Witnesses describe Fritz attacking McWilliams with a sledge hammer from behind delivering four blows as the officer fell. Fritz fled after the attack as investigators piece together motive and weapon details while officials condemn leniency at reformatories.
Dr L N Deekel as Harry secretary of the state health sends a circular letter to all public health commissioners urging against closing public schools during contagion fears. He argues schools often protect health by preventing disease spread and notes that a few dozen cases do not justify mass closures.
Indiana schools will receive interest of 278 dollars and 23 cents from tax funds plus district allocations. Figures show state treasury disbursements from June settlements and county distributions reflect per child funding. Bargains at Mally Land’s offered for thirty days.
Indianapolis reports that the green light law requiring constant display of green oil lanterns at hotel exits will be enforced. John J. Walsh cites prior non-enforcement and notes a penalty of up to sixty days in jail.
Notice lists a wide assortment of livestock and farm items offered for sale including a yearling colt, three horses, two work mules, two brood sows, nine hogs, and several Jersey cattle plus a cream separator. Call at the late David W. Stewart residence in Old Marengo Indiana.
Notice warns that all parties found hunting on my premises will be prosecuted for trespass. Mary Hammond signs the notice and urges visitors to see bargain shoes. The ad ends with a reflective line about judging people by their company and their love for the Lord.

People travel to Indianapolis Louisville and Cory for visits, sales and family events with several illness updates and social visits reported.
Health in this vicinity is very good at present. Mrs. Wallace Myler celebrated a birthday with neighbors and friends attending a pleasant surprise gathering. Arthur Johnson visited from Mt. Carmel while Chas. Jobe’s illness was noted and a pie supper fundraiser drew attendees from Sulphur Branchville Beechwood St Croix West Point Nottie Point and Mifflin.
Rev Oster delivered an excellent sermon at Jericho Monday night. Families and friends from West Fork, Sulphur, Schooner Point, Union Chapel, Fredonia, Riddle, and Sulphur communities visited local residents over the weekend. Many Ties include Ethel Denbo Lulu Wise Wiseman Roberson Esarey Wright and Cal esarey visits noted.
