Two Illinois State University students, Donna Hornbeak of Lan gley and Betty White of Calumet, engage in practice teaching. Hornbeak teaches history at Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, while White teaches home economics at Township High in Pontiac, Michigan.
Parker High School students excel in the 1968 Scholastic Art Competition held at Wieboldt store Ford City Plaza. Notable finalists include Robert Hughes Feda Laverne Sherrod Ruby Stallworth and many others with Lil lie Smith earning a college tuition scholarship.
