About one hundred feet of the pipe line burst last Sunday and the town has been without lights the week. Mrs Dunbar returned last week from a five weeks visit in Missouri. Her daughter, Mrs Myrtle, accompanied her but remained in Missouri and will attend school there this winter.

Bingham Buys Noted Percheron Stallion For Encampment
Dr J W Bogham purchased the thoroughbred Percheron stallion Billy Sunday brought from Colorado. The horse will be kept at the Bingham ranch for ranch work and custom use. Seen as one of the best, he will be displayed at the Carbon county fair in Saratoga next week for ranchers to inspect. The Encampment area gains a premier sire to aid local stock.

Archie Anderson Buys Parr Ranch in Valley Deal
Archie Anderson last week purchased the J.J. Parr ranch adjoining his home place. The 160-acre property includes all of Parrs cattle, with a consideration of 9900 dollars. Mr Parr’s future plans are not learned, but he is not expected to remain idle.

Rambling Freight Run By Ford Trader
On Tuesday of last week Frank Crout hauled over 1400 pounds on his Ford car from Encam ment to Beaver creek and he thinks the Ford makes a fairly good freight wagon. The load included R Z McCoy with three weeks supplies Eli Stallman his dog bed and suitcase Louis Cunningham Dr J W Bingham two hundred pounds of parcel post besides the regular By Creek mail and himself. Most of the load was taken to By Creek but some was left at Beaver and points the other side.

Mexican Herders' Fatal Shooting Near Hog Park
In Hog Park country south of town, Frank Chavez shot and killed Albert Swartz after a rough fight. Swartz died about three hours later. Chavez fled. deputies and officials later reached the scene.
