The Encampment Echo marks its first year, praising the past year’s finances and audience loyalty while noting liberal ad support from some local firms and a few who did not patronize. Management offers a renewed subscription push, extending a $2.00 rate until December 1, and laments copy-swiping from rival papers with sarcasm from the Saratoga Sun.
The message states that after a certain date the Echo will cost 32.50 per year and thanks patrons for supporting the Echo as a living publication. It promises to keep each issue more interesting next year and closes with courteous regards from James R. Lirree.
