Candidates Backward Under Low County Salary Appeal
The Rawlins Republican notes scant primary activity as petitions are due. County offices attract few candidates despite an expected 20 percent salary rise on January 1. Carbon County’s large business base means residents are joint stockholders, pushing for better men to run. The era may require drafting candidates rather than seekers. Also, Encampment visitors Mr and Mrs George Peryam and four sons arrive, eldest Paul undergoes tonsil adenoid surgery at Ivinson hospital, while two other boys and Mrs Peryam stay for dental work and rest.
