Wyoming paint and soap mine to open near Medicine Bow
The Medicine Bow area will see a paint and soap mine opening led by Joe F. Smith of Encampment. The paint, mixed with water, costs less than oil based paints, and the vein 4 to 12 feet thick lies about two feet below surface. A mill is installed four miles from Medicine Bow with a spur to the U P railroad. Orders for thousands of tons have already arrived, and agency interest is high. The soap mine nearby will produce a versatile soft stone used in place of manufactured soaps. A polish stone also found there will soon enter markets. The Wyoming incorporated company is valued at 250 000 dollars, with stock demanded at 5 dollars a share, mainly owned by Wyoming men.
