Letter From Live Stock Commissioners Urges Local Inspectors
Saratoga Valley Stock Growers association reports a letter from the State Board of Livestock Commissioners stating there is no current provision to pay for livestock inspectors for cattle shipments to market centers. It urges lawmakers to pass a local inspection law before cattle are driven or shipped out of the county, similar to Colorado’s system, to protect cattle owners and improve returns.
