In Jungle's Grip by Harry L. Foster in Lesilea
The writer recalls three archetypes of tropical wanderers met in the Amazon region. Lloyd, a Oxford graduate coffee planter who embraces jungle life. Crawford, an Irish rubber baron living 26 years interior with 300 Indians. and Palmer, an adventurer settled beside a gold nugget bearing squaw, courting trust over years. The piece contrasts camp to camp life and jungle solitude with the lure of wanderlust.
