Stock Size Limits Prohibit Livestock Running At Large

Dakota territory bans running at large of certain livestock. No stallion over eighteen months, Mexican Texan Cherokee bulls over ten months, or Mexican rams over eight months may roam freely. Offenders face a fine from ten to fifty dollars and authorities may castrate such animals.

The Emmons County Board of Commissioners met September 2 1895 with Geo H McLain chairing and Wm Margach Franz Wolf present. They approved minutes, debated tax abatements, approved numerous bills, accepted the resignation of a sheep inspector, and authorized an appeal in Patterson v Wollman. An open bid for lignite coal was announced for October 7 1895.
