Ed Savage buys post office corner lot and adjoining north lot from J R Wirth. plans remodeling as residence. Hunter license blanks mailed to Banks counties. fill forms and mail with $1 to county auditor to receive licenses by return mail. Harvest News From The County Jubilee

The harvest shows a banner year with uncertain returns while rust affected late wheat. Bridges over Four Mile and Porcupine creeks bring a crew and horses across the river this week as steel is expected soon. Frank Kiske Sunday escorted Miss Susie Adams from Pollock with Mrs. Colville accompanying their return.

Local farmers upbeat on crop prospects and weather report

The district reports a favorable harvest outlook with flax and hay yielding well and wheat expected to be good despite price declines. Corn has advanced strongly and North Dakota, especially Emmons County, looks promising for farmers. Debts may ease as the season ends and spirits rise countywide.

River boats bring lumber and grain house plans to Emmons county

Frank Fiske confirms Benton Packet Company will deliver lumber for two grain houses to be built on the east side of the Missouri river opposite Can nonball and on the John O Flynn place north of Winona. The new structures will aid farmers 25 to 200 miles from railroads and boost future grain production. The Benton Packet Company, owned by Capt. I. P. Baker, operates upper Missouri river boats and yards stocked with elevators, lumber and implements.

Why Not a Trail Link Between Yellowstone and Red Trails

The Linton Record suggests creating an independent trail from Selby through Mound City Herreid Strasburg Linton to Bismarck joining the Yellowstone and Red Trails. It argues the crossroad would draw auto travelers and boost towns on the route with joint promotion from trail groups.
