A series of notices from L A Couen Loftus Buckley and H A Armstrong announcing candidacy or re election for county positions. The notes specify assessor of the Second Commissioner District and county auditor of Emmons County subject to Republican convention decisions.
The undersigned announce candidacies for Emmons county sheriff and treasurer. F. D. Suita seeks sheriff under Democratic guidance. A second candidate, T. P. Leg, announces for county treasurer subject to the Democratic county convention in Wivona on Oct. 6.
A pioneer picnic is announced for Williamsport schoolhouse with invitations to early settlers and all county residents. A letter notes the event for September 18 marking the sixth anniversary of Dan Williams marriage and proposes annual picnics with baskets, urging broad turnout and camaraderie.
The 1892 Democratic county convention in Winchester, North Dakota, elected W. L. Yeater as chairman and T. P. Lee as secretary. Delegates were authorized to cast their district votes for Fargo state convention on September 6, 1892. Nominees for judicial delegates included Thomas Bottomley, Joseph Kulberer, W. L. Yeater, and E. Brindle, all elected by acclamation. The county convention was set for October 6, 1892 in Winona at 2 p.m. and adjourned with Yeater as chairman and Ler as secretary. An old physician claims a vegetable remedy can cure consumption bronchitis catarrh asthma and all throat and lung diseases along with nervous debility. He offers to mail the recipe free in German French or English to anyone who asks, citing W A Noyes 820 Powers Block Rochester NY.
The Williamsport School District No. 6 met by adjournment with J L Boutillier and L B Koker present. Plans for a Farrell neighborhood schoolhouse were prepared. Six months of winter schooling at Nos. 1 and 4 was set. Mrs W S Casselman hired to teach No. 1 at 40 dollars monthly, beginning November 1. E C Campbell, Clerk.

It also reports the county teachers certificate exam set for Winona on Friday September 9, with applicants needing to be at least eighteen, bring stationery, and exam starting at 8:30 a.m. Anpus, County Superintendent of Schools, dated August 19, 1892.
