Hazelton Happenings and Local Notes

J Sauer traveled to Braddock for the afternoon. Mrs A L Geil from Linton visited friends last week. Attorney Armstrong went to Braddock on business. Adolph Staak of Braddock visited Hazelton Monday. Mr and Mrs L S Chapman spent days in Bismarck on business and pleasure. Kelly returned from St Paul with cattle. The Staaks visited Hazelton again with a new Studebaker roadster. F H Webert and J F Sabraw brought lumber for the Washburn Merrick yard. Banker Lenhart left for Bismarck then Flasher on business. J S Williams left for Rock Rapids IA after a three week stay. Reports on Peter Farrell’s illness show a critical decline. Wheat yields noted: Marquis 42 bu/acre on 40 acres. Levi Wright 35 bu/acre. Malchert farm 23 bu overall. Landsberger 26 sh. Moger 27 sh. Purintun 25 sh. Hazelton’s new jail began after a Thursday night arrest of two youths for stealing a robe and clothes from a Tye Bros. granary. C A Raridon and son George voyaged to Mobridge SD in a Maxwell. trip 5 hours home. Mr and Mrs Saueressig and Mrs Bennett of Drake visited S E Kurtz’s to review land interests. Saueressigs and Bennetts are longtime locals.
