Remains Unearthed During Street Work Near Soo Depot

An engineer cleaning a steam shovel east of the Soo depot uncovered undisturbed remains from Minot’s old cemetery. The coffin lid was torn, flesh noted, and the body dressed in corduroy. remains were reburied in Potter’s Field Friday by Mayor Roach’s order. Upon Soo Railroad arrival in 1893, bodies were moved, but about a dozen are still believed to lie there.
