In Fargo federal court J A Erickson former president of the failed First National Bank of Minot pleaded guilty to making false returns to the comptroller of the currency. Judge Amidon imposed five years at hard labor in Sioux Falls noting lack of criminal intent. Erickson said directors were lax and promised reform. He is to begin serving after being taken to Sioux Falls as his wife traveled from Minot to bid him farewell.
